The National Accreditation Commission (CNA-Chile) agreed to renew the institutional accreditation of Universidad Mayor for a 5-year period, which is until 2015. The institution was awarded with the accreditation for the first time in 2005, which it underwent voluntarily.
The national accreditation process focuses on the assessment in the area of Institutional Management as well as Undergraduate Instruction, which is Professional Education.
The President’s Office has conveyed its satisfaction for this achievement, highlighting that this “ratifies the thoroughness of the work of a permanent self-assessment and of continuous improvement which has been developed; this work has been strengthened through our international accreditation process with an official North American agency of which the final stage is about to finalize with very favourable signs”.
With this renewed accreditation status the students who apply to Universidad Mayor at any of its two branches (Santiago and Temuco), have the right to apply for a private loan with State warranty.
It should be mentioned that Universidad Mayor provides different benefits and loans which regular as well as incoming students may apply to.
Universidad Mayor likewise undergoes the accreditation of degree programs. In this way, degree programs in Education, Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing have been accredited. Other programs belonging to the health area are in the process of accreditation, and a work plan is being held for degree programs of other areas.
